How our brands operate
AALCAM and æxso are brands of OBERMAIER LTD. This page explains what that means.
The structure
OBERMAIER LTD owns and operates AALCAM and æxso. Each brand has its own website, its own purpose and its own rules.
The company is the legal entity behind both brands. Agreements, payments and the ownership of the brand names and of the materials the brands produce sit with the company.
AALCAM
AALCAM, the American Alliance for Leadership, Consulting, Advisory and Mentorship, is an educational project operated by OBERMAIER LTD. It is not a separate legal entity, it is not a nonprofit organization and it does not have tax-exempt status.
- Who decides. A volunteer Ethics Board decides ethical matters. It does not decide the mission, and no board or member vote can change the mission or the founding principle.
- How it earns money. The library is open to read. The paid part is the professional certification, where a fee covers a test and a review of academic and professional background.
- Who owns what. The AALCAM name and the materials AALCAM produces belong to OBERMAIER LTD. Openly licensed materials in the library keep their own licenses; each item is labeled by type.
- The full rules are published at aalcam.org.
æxso
æxso offers sales consulting and the implementation of open source alternatives to proprietary business software. It is a brand of OBERMAIER LTD, not a separate company: the services are provided by OBERMAIER LTD under the æxso name, and engagements are agreed with the company.
The æxso name, its logo and its graphic materials belong to OBERMAIER LTD.
